Unleashing America's Advanced Energy Future: Federal Resources to Combat Inflation, Create Jobs, and Achieve Energy Independence

TAEBA has developed three guides, tailored to specific decision makers – the Governor's office and executive agencies, utility regulators, and Texas lawmakers – to help increase their understanding the far-reaching federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law). The guides provide succinct descriptions and analyses of the tax incentives, programmatic funding, and other policies in the IRA and IIJA relevant to transportation electrification, domestic manufacturing, and the energy transition. They also identify how the IRA and IIJA can help Texas decision makers achieve their goals - from reducing energy costs, creating jobs, and revitalizing industry to bolstering disadvantaged communities and cutting pollution. Download a guide to learn more about how these federal programs can enable and support an American energy future that’s more affordable, reliable, clean, and independent.

Future Proofing the Texas Grid with Distributed Energy Resources

A new TAEBA white paper, prepared by Converge Strategies, LLC and Synapse Energy Economics, shows how a suite of small, advanced technologies called “distributed energy resources” should be used to help improve the way Texas responds to emergencies like natural disasters. “Future Proofing the Texas Grid With Distributed Energy Resources” outlines how DERs can be better used to make sure food, water, shelter, fuel, and emergency rescue operations can still be provided in extreme situations, like those experienced during Winter Storm Uri in 2021.

January 2022 Poll of Texas Voters on Electric Grid Reliability

In January 2022, TAEBA sought opinions from Texans close to the one-year anniversary of Winter Storm Uri. Texans were asked about their experiences with Winter Storm Uri, attitudes about electricity grid reliability, and new technologies like solar energy and electric vehicles. Several voting districts were over-sampled to provide district representative polling results
